FAQs
Career coaching is a relatively unfamiliar concept, so it makes sense to have questions! These are some that I get frequently, but please reach out if you have any other nagging questions.
-
We’ll start by co-creating a clear focus for each session, ensuring it aligns with your goals. If the focus shifts, I’ll help you re-align, so every session moves you closer to your desired outcomes.
-
I typically provide a pre-session form to help you prioritise and reflect before our next session (if that’s what you need!). Sometimes we will agree on tasks, relevant resources or thinking points as some of the most impactful coaching insights happens between sessions when you have had the opportunity to reflect, experiment and explore.
-
The coaching plan will be fully tailored to your needs. Typically, we’ll uncover the core “problem” in the initial session(s), which is often not presented immediately, and maintain focus throughout. Towards the end, we’ll reflect on key takeaways such as behaviour, mindset and performance changes, and create an accountability plan for lasting success.

My coaching is informed by:
Co-active principles (i.e., I work together with the client to find their best solution)
Design thinking and product management frameworks (i.e., experimental and hypothesis testing mindset)
A holistic approach to being (i.e., physical, mental, and social health are all intertwined with who the client is at work)
Self-determination theory (i.e., intrinsic motivation is based on autonomy, competence and connection)
‘Existential' insights (i.e., we all have individual freedoms to make choices and create our own futures).
Using powerful questions, I’ll help you reframe challenges, unlock new perspectives, and spark sustainable growth.

Many believe coaching is only for executives, but coaching can benefit you at any stage in your career, allowing you to be more intentional and satisfied in its development.
I worked with my clients to build their courage and find clarity in their career, develop a high-accountability, high-empathy management style, navigate toxic workplaces, balance speed and excellence in fast-paced environments and find the values-driven and strengths-based path for them that matches market needs.
-
Coaching is a unique approach to career development in that it empowers you to find solutions that are true to your ideas, strengths and values. Unlike mentoring or consulting, it’s not about giving advice, but equipping you with the tools you need to take ownership of your decisions and create lasting change.
As a coach, I have the responsibility to let the client know if I believe that other modes of support might be better suited to their current situation. Some of my clients also work with a therapist and I believe that therapy and coaching can truly complement each other if the client is in a state where they feel that they are resourceful and capable.
-
Short answer: no.
I’ll guide you with thought-provoking questions and tools, but the decisions and actions are yours. This ensures that the changes you make are deeply aligned with your values and more likely to stick. Think about a time when you heard a piece of advice repeatedly, but refused to implement it until the same realisation came from you. I ensure the coachee will take responsibility for the agenda and outcome of the coaching.

Coaching is often reimbursable through workplace development budgets, which I can help you get approved. If you’re paying out of pocket, share your budget and we can brainstorm flexible solutions such as payment plans, group coaching, or other resources. I started coaching to help people and it is my priority to make it more and more accessible.
